Customs data show that China exported only 1,248 tonnes of lithium hydroxide in July, a dramatic month-on-month drop of 80%. Shipments to South Korea totaled 839 tonnes, accounting for 67% of China’s total exports yet down 84% from the previous month, while exports to Japan reached 264 tonnes, or 21% of the total, sliding 70% month on month. The sharp decline was driven by weak overseas demand and shipping-schedule disruptions.
Imports of lithium hydroxide into China were negligible at less than 1 tonne in July, a 100% month-on-month decrease.
